Royalty free stock photo website that prominently features people of color
Project Type: Concept for mobile version of website
My Role: UI Designer, Researcher
Tools: Figma, Illustrator
OBJECTIVE
Stock footage sites don’t have much content that features people of color
Create a prototype to increase accessibility to royalty-free stock images and footage of people of color.
OUTCOME
Website with downloadable royalty free content that features people of color
Through a competitive analysis I generated wireframes and a user flow for a mobile site, where users have access to a large collection of content and can upload their own.
Competitive Analysis
I compared 3 different stock photo sites
Pixabay - Contains a variety of royalty free content, but very few images of people of color. Users can create a profile, like and favorite images, and message and follow other users.
Nappy - Large collection of royalty free images, with an emphasis on black people. No option for users to create an account on the site, but users can upload images and link to their Instagram or Pexels account.
Pexels - More diverse collection of images and videos. Users can follow each other, and like each other's content.
